Aluminium Phosphide Fumigation Standard

Note: Aluminium Phosphite is a common error. The correct fumigant is Aluminium Phosphide (AlP).

  • Fumigant Gas Released: Phosphine (PH₃)

Fumigation Parameters

Dosage 1.5–3 g PH₃/m³ or 2–5 tablets/ton
Exposure Period 5 to 7 days at 25°C+
Temperature Minimum 21–25°C recommended
Sealing Gas-tight cover (PVC/LDPE sheeting)
Monitoring Phosphine detection tube or gas meter
Safe Re-entry Limit < 0.3 ppm PH₃

Safety Guidelines

  • Use of SCBA (Self-contained breathing apparatus)
  • Trained applicators only
  • Warning signage during fumigation
  • No direct human exposure allowed
